Just got the Denon x2000 from crutchfeild and I've noticed the top gets really hot after only a short time of use. I am going to put it on a shelf in my component closet and I'm worried this thing will overheat and fry eventually. I was torn between this and the Yamaha v675, both are $400. Everything works, it just gets hot. It has dual fans in the front along the sides but those never turn on. I don't think the receiver thinks it's hot enough to turn those on, but I'm not sure what would qualify as hot enough then. I am using it for my garage because I had to send my factory refurbished Harmon Kardon back because it had some issues. This is a great receiver in 2 channel mode with a sub, and some Bose 301's. I've had receivers that get a little warm when they've been on for a while, but this is getting pretty damn hot, and fairly quickly too.
